Verbum Dei High School’s art field trips hosted by Allison Kennedy, Art teacher, are returning for a fourth incarnation. An upcoming field trip is set to visit the Teele Art Studio in Hawthorne. Students from the VDHS community will be taking sculpting classes at the Teele Art Studio, 13040 Cerise Avenue, Suite O, Hawthorne, CA, on Saturday, November 9, from 2:30 to 5:30 P.M.
A single van will depart at Verb at 2:30 P.M. The entire trip to Teele Art Studio will be last three hours; the van will return to campus at 5:30 P.M.
Fr. George Teodoro and Kennedy will drive and supervise the students throughout the trip.
“To make art and see art professionally,” said Kennedy of her motivation to host the trip. Kennedy enjoys organizing these trips so that students can learn from other professional artists who make a living from their creativity.
“It sounds like a lot of fun – especially the sculpting lessons” said senior John Madrigal.
The Teele Art Studio field trip was originally scheduled for November 2, but it was postponed to accommodate more students. At press time, three students were signed up, and two seats remain. Interested students should go promptly to Computer Lab 1 to sign-up and to obtain a permission slip. The trip is open to students of all grade levels.
