On Tuesday, May 17, 2011, Mr. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, basketball legend and historian, visited Verbum Dei to speak about the importance of education.  In addition, he spoke about his work on African-American History including his upcoming movie "On the Shoulder of Giants" which is a story about an all-black basketball team from Harlem in the 1930s.

The Verb students who asked Kareem questions got a chance to have their photo taken with him.
